Hal M. Lippard, DDS
Dr. Hal M. Lippard, affectionately known around here as "Dr. Hal," is originally from Cleveland, Tennessee. He studied Biology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, before going on to the University of Tennessee, Memphis to pursue his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.). After completing dental school, Dr. Lippard spent 4 years in the U.S. Army Dental Corps and continued to serve in the United States Army Reserves as a Dental Officer for another 17 years. He's been in private practice in Charlottesville, Virginia for over 20 years and believes ongoing education is the cornerstone for his professional development. Dr. Lippard attends yearly continuing education courses to keep him abreast of the latest in dental procedures/ products, technologies, and treatment theory/research.
Dr. Lippard is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Charlottesville-Albemarle Dental Association. Realizing the importance of giving back to the community he serves, Dr. Lippard enjoys work with the Charlottesville Free Clinic, The Children’s Community Dental, Center, and the UVA Pre-Dental Shadowing Program. Outside of the dental community, Dr. Lippard is a member of the Albemarle Rotary Club where he has been a Paul Harris Fellow and has participated in multiple international community health development efforts for the Rotary Foundation.
Dr. Lippard feels that the office's unique "smallness" has allowed him to develop a real bond with his patients, fostering relationships with entire families whose children have progressed from pre-school to college grads as part of the “Dr. Hal Dental Family”. The practice size has afforded Dr. Lippard and his team the opportunity to care for and become acquainted with some of this country’s most fascinating and talented people who call greater Charlottesville home!
Dr. Lippard and his wife, Cathy, reside in Albemarle County. He is the proud father of two daughters who live in Atlanta, GA and Mobile, AL that were educated in the local school system. For pleasure outside the office, Dr. Lippard enjoys travel, landscaping, tennis, reading, and swimming.
